贝淡宁(Daniel A．Bell) 清华大学《北京)伦理学和政治理论教授。贝教授生于蒙特利尔，受学麦吉尔大学和牛津大学，曾在新加坡和香港的大学任教，还在普林斯顿大学和斯坦福大学从事研究工作。著有《社群主义及其批评》(牛津大学出版社1993年，生活·读书·新知三联书店2001年)，另有四本有关亚洲政治和哲学的著作均在普林斯顿大学出版社出版。他还在北京的《读书》、美国的《异见者》和《新闻周刊》等杂志发表文章，并在英国《卫报》之”自由评论博客”、美国《纽约时报》、《国际先驱者论坛报》、中国《环球时报》、加拿大多伦多《环球邮报》的媒体发表评论。他还接受了NPR、BBC、CBC以及中国数家媒体的专访。
